In Los Rios by Bryan Zimmerman, Army Captain Matthew Ferguson follows a cryptic cry for help to the remote Texas town of Los Rios, only to be arrested and nearly disappear by a corrupt local police force. Reunited with fellow veteran Johnny Etheridge, Matt uncovers a dangerous plot: a cartel and foreign oil interests are conspiring to seize control of Johnny's family ranch, the Bar E, which sits atop untapped oil reserves. Rallying a group of loyal veterans and old allies, Matt prepares for a covert war on both sides of the border. As violence escalates and political lines blur, Matt must choose between duty and destiny, all while falling for the one woman he shouldn't: Johnny's sister, Sarah.
