Like Another Helen

This novel is set in Calcutta (Kolkatta) in Colonial British India in the eighteenth century. It begins as two women, one mature, the other only just finished school, are preparing to board the ship Orford, bound for India. One is rejoining her husband, the other is going to join her father who is already out in Calcutta. The story is told using the means of letters sent back home to England.
