Revisiting his first love was never part of Jack Callahan's plan. After all, it'd been over two decades since the sight of Jordan Sommersby peeling lemons on her front porch electrified him. That same night, he and Jordan discovered they were both born on the Fourth of July. Enamored with the birthday serendipity, she suggested they write each other a letter every Fourth and he'd agreed. He would've agreed to anything. Launched under a sky exploding with fireworks, their love story had forever overtones until Jordan abruptly left Jack to chase a different destiny. The secret pact proves destructive when Priscilla, Jack's wife and Jordan's former best friend, uncovers the cache of unmailed letters he'd written to Jordan throughout their marriage. Six months after Jack's divorce, Jordan stages a glittering return to Wayside, a high-society Connecticut suburb. No less dazzling than when she left him, Jordan's homecoming presents a second chance at the storybook future they'd squandered. Fueled by memories that won't quit, Jack and Jordan quickly recapture the magic. But a coterie of angry and disillusioned people threaten to derail their encore. At the top of that list is Cash, Jordan's jilted ex, who schemes to keep them apart. As Jack and Jordan accept that what started as an innocent pact eventually crossed into a moral gray zone, the choices that kept them apart beg some tough questions. Can you really love one person while spending your life with someone else? Will the same letters that tethered them for years upend their glossy lives?
