Learn What This Means

God spoke the world into existence. Why doesn't He speak clearly to us? Why would Jesus need to tell us to "Learn what this means"? If what God has to say is so important to us, why doesn't He make it clear from the beginning? Or is that not as simple as we think? What is our excuse for being confused?
