In the early 90s when mobile phones were the size of a briefcase and nobody had heard of e-mail, five friends in their early twenties, with the ambitious intention of circumnavigating the world, bought a 41 foot sailboat that had been wrecked in a hurricane and went to work fixing her. A year later, in October of 1992, they sailed out of Marion, Massachusetts to begin what would turn out to be a two and a half year sail around the world, covering almost 30,000 miles. They each brought their particular skills to the table and sailed as equal partners in the boat and the endeavor - there was no captain. All five returned home in May of 1995 with five tales from the adventure of a lifetime. This is one of those tales told by one of the crew.
