Six men are missing, and no one cares. No one except local lodge owner Nyla Jameson, and Somerton's power-hungry sheriff isn't about to listen to her. Desperate, afraid, and with no one in her corner, Nyla knows that her only hope of finding someone to believe her lies somewhere beyond Somerton's borders. Agent Aaron Klein had more than enough excitement over his ten years with the Bureau. So, when Nyla Jameson's email finds him, begging for his help, Aaron is prepared to turn her down. But something about Nyla stops him, some intangible thing that has him rushing to Somerton before the sun rises the next morning. Together, Nyla and Aaron dive headfirst into Somerton's insidious, blood-drenched secrets while more men vanish into the belly of the Basin's hunting grounds. Something is haunting the mountain forest, and Nyla and Aaron must unravel its mysteries before they join the silent corpses buried beneath the evergreens.
