Mickey Doyle had the opportunity of a lifetime. As an undersized minor pro soccer goalie from Liverpool, he’d achieved as much as his body would let him. Then, on a fluke, he discovered a new talent, and became the kicker for a professional football team in America. His journey took him overseas to a land more foreign than he had imagined, but in other ways it was very familiar. His inner journey wound through ambition, happiness, solitude, friendship, and love. But ultimately, he crossed the ocean in search of himself.
