In 1960, Milford is a typical small town in the deep south: white picket fences, neat yards, deep segregation, and parents taking their kids for ice cream on Sunday afternoon after church. High school student Joshua Davis, the teenage son of a white pastor, begins a romance with beautiful Kayla Walker, the daughter of a black storekeeper. Kayla soon goes missing, and Joshua falls under suspicion. When the FBI get called to the case, it becomes clear that all is not as it seems in this picturesque small town. As FBI agents Fogle and Jennings sift through the evidence, they discover a dark underbelly of hatred and bigotry, a secret society, and a strictly enforced "keep quiet" policy. Do the Sons of Confederacy have a role in the disappearance of young Kayla Walker? Who is Pastor Roy Davis, and why is he worshipped by so many?
