Karid

Foodie meets PTSD and just desserts are served. Thirty years ago, the Zuvgran released a virus that killed most Svesti females and rendered the remainder infertile. The Svesti initiate first contact with Earth when their scientists discover that humans and Svesti can interbreed. Humans may be able to save the warrior species that has been protecting Earth's region of space for a century. Ava is a chef who is enjoying experimenting with the new foods and spices she's discovering in the universe. After suffering a cruel childhood, food is her way to connect without becoming too close to people. Karid is the tactical officer on the space cruiser. Intelligent, charismatic, and known for his comic relief-until he returns from a secret mission irrevocably changed. Karid is the fifth book in the Svesti Fated Mates series with a HEA and can be read as a standalone, although it is recommended that the books be read in order for the best experience. Note: Karid has much darker elements in the storyline than others in the series and may not suit all readers. Subject matter includes childhood physical and sexual abuse, suicidal ideations, torture, and physical maiming.
