Jonah's purpose was to testify of God's truth and grace to the world, but he held fast to a hope much less secure-his Israelite heritage, his ministry, his pride, and his own self-righteousness. As Jonah wrestled with his conflicting ambitions, acting childishly and selfishly, God bent down to meet him with gracious compassion. Through Jesus Christ, God pursues us with the same compassion that He demonstrated to Jonah.
Through thoughtful, practical questions and helpful commentary, this book will guide you in meaningful Bible study as you behold God's compassion to Jonah, the power of God's word, and His amazing grace to us through Jesus.
