About
Jolly Kryzmooz is a cute, athletic, teenage moose who is all heart. He embodies the spirit of those who overcome physical challenges to follow their dreams. He's a natural athlete, and everyone expects him to lead his team to victory at the Winter Wonderland Games, which are held at the North Pole just before Christmas.
Jolly's best friend and skijoring partner is Armie, a white, funny ermine. Armie holds onto Jolly's reins and skis behind him. He is extremely competitive, and they make a wonderful team.
Many animals join them on the trek north to the games, including Jolly's aging Grandpa , who is a wise old moose and Jolly's mentor. He also meets a young moose named Choclot from the Westwoodz team. They form a close friendship, and she supports and encourages him through his difficult journey.
Jolly and Armie soon meet up with their archrivals from the Craggy Mountains, who are more like a motorcycle gang than a sports team. They challenge Jolly and Armie to a race, leading them deep into the woods. Armie falls into a trap set by mean poachers who are in the area looking for furs.
Armie is freed with the help of two snowy owls, but Jolly must jump a raging river to save himself and Armie. He makes an incredible jump over the river. One of the poachers takes a shot, and the bullet misses, causing a rockslide. Jolly is severely injured.
Jolly wakes up in a hospital run by animals in a cave, where he learns that his back legs are paralyzed and that he will never be able to use them again. He is devastated and it's difficult for everyone. Jolly and his Grandpa stay behind while the team heads to the games. It's heartbreaking. Jolly is depressed, but his heart, spirit and determination drive him forward.
He soon finds an old wheelchair and uses it for his back legs. His new friends at the hospital help him turn old sleigh rails into a sleighkart. He can now run in the snow. The poachers smoke the animals out of the hospital, but Jolly helps them escape to another distant cave.
He learns about a training camp for injured animals, but it's a dangerous journey. Grandpa is too weak to make the journey, and Jolly strikes out on his own. He continually outsmarts the poachers, but they soon find the camp. He and the other injured animals decide to make the trip to the North Pole to avoid the poachers, even though their own Paralympic games are after Christmas.
Once at the games, Jolly convinces the officials that he can still compete despite his injury. During the championship race, he discovers that the poachers have reached the North Pole and he uncovers their plot to cause an avalanche. He saves the day by causing an avalanche to bury the poachers instead.
He has shown everyone that any challenge can be overcome by sticking to your dreams and following your heart. He receives a special gold heart-shaped medal for his spirit and courage. Santa and the young reindeer learn about his dreams to fly and give him a rocket sleigh for Christmas, which happens to be Jolly's birthday. He flies by Santa and his reindeer, who are on their way to deliver Christmas presents.Santa shouts to him, "Tis the season to be Jolly."
