About
《美高物理衔接手册》(A Bridge to U.S.
A Bridge to U.S. High School Physics (《美高物理衔接手册》) is a bilingual companion written for Chinese-speaking students stepping into the American physics classroom. It is built for a very specific moment: when a student already knows some physics in Chinese, yet suddenly faces an English textbook or an AP exam and has no idea where to begin.
Rather than translating an existing textbook, the book rebuilds physics in a voice students can actually follow. Chinese carries the reasoning and intuition, while every core term, law, and problem appears in English-repeated often enough to become second nature. The result reads less like a reference manual and more like a story, with genuine understanding, not memorization, as its goal.
The book covers the full span of U.S. high-school physics and algebra-based AP Physics 1 & 2 (not calculus-based Physics C): measurement and vectors; kinematics and Newtonian dynamics; circular motion and gravitation; work, energy, and momentum; rotation and fluids; electric fields, circuits, magnetism, and electromagnetic induction; oscillations, waves, and optics; thermodynamics; and modern, atomic, nuclear, and relativistic physics. Three features run through every chapter: training in how to decode the hidden meaning of English problem stems; a step-by-step calculation method-draw the picture, set up coordinates, write the equation, solve, and check the units; and clear, original line-art figures that teach rather than decorate. Every chapter closes with English practice problems and detailed bilingual solutions.
The aim is to help students understand how the laws of physics are built-not just what the formulas say-and to lay a confident foundation for Honors and AP Physics.
