AN ECCENTRIC HORSE-DOCTOR, a mysterious lady in black, King Crawdad doing the Macarina, Grandma DeBord, a blood-healer-these are just few of the colorful characters you will meet in JEMTOWN AND OTHER TALES. JEMTOWN is the author's name for Hedley, Texas named for J. E. M. Hedley, railroad influencer. Based on the homespun narratives of early day Hedley residents, as well as the historical records, JEMTOWN will charm you and inspire you in the short-story tradition of Louis L'Amour and Eudora Welty.
