After her sister-in-law and traumatized six-year-old niece showed up at her door, Lisa Taylor's carefully constructed life began to unravel. Freshly married and running a successful marketing business after just a few months after moving to Los Angeles, she suddenly found herself navigating the chaos of instant parenthood while trapped in a toxic marriage that left her feeling "diminished," "disconnected," and "uncomfortable in my home."
What followed was a series of profound life-altering experiences: divorce, the sudden death of her niece's mother from an overdose, pandemic isolation, and the daunting task of healing while still caring for others. At her lowest point, Lisa felt like she had "folded and tucked [herself] into an unrecognizable shape" - slouching to take up less space, hiding her true self to fit into a life that wasn't hers.
Then came the turning point: during a shamanic journey in Bali, Lisa received a message from her deceased grandmother: "Remember, this is what we do." This launched her on a spiritual awakening that took her from water fasting and Kundalini yoga to soul retrieval and intuitive development. Through practices she calls "Me Moments" - simple yet transformative exercises in breath, meditation, gratitude, and energy clearing - Lisa discovered that healing must begin with oneself.
This 40,000-word memoir isn't just Lisa's story of moving from darkness to light. It's a practical guide offering readers immediate tools to heal their own emotional baggage, trust their intuition, and create balance across mind, body, heart, and soul. Each chapter blends raw personal storytelling with actionable guidance, culminating in Lisa's powerful realization: "The wisdom we seek is found within. Doing this inner work has allowed me to fall in love with myself."
For anyone who has ever sacrificed their own well-being to care for others, "It All Begins With You" delivers the liberating truth that self-healing isn't selfish - it's the necessary foundation for living authentically and making your greatest contribution to the world.
