‘The Last Methuselah: Is That All There Is?’ opens with Joleen once, again immersed in the manuscript entrusted to her care. The story resumes with the conclusion of the precedent-setting trial of Cletis Raines and his substantial narcotics operation in Florida, Nathaniel John Smith's first case as a prosecutor.

Through keen observation, thorough preparation, and stone-cold rationality, Mr. Smith takes on a variety of cases that demand justice. He prosecutes racketeering, corruption, and murder. He faces down smugglers, contract killers, and rapists.
