A fast moving drama covering 96 hours in the life of Stephen Leigh-Grace, trying to put his life back together following the death of his wife. While moving his boat from its winter moorings to a coastal berth, he accidentally becomes involved in an interracial attack. Initially thought to be involved by the police; he is eventually released, only to be savagely attacked on returning to his boat. A number of relationships begin to develop, and the pace of the story is maintained, as the police attempt to discover if the assaults are connected.
