Instant Daddy, Just Add Rum is a steamy and heartfelt second-chance romance from award-winning author Mary Oldham. The story begins on the sun-drenched shores of Saint Barts, where Jack Brewster, hiding behind a mysterious French persona, meets the captivating "Miss Red Bikini," Ella Martin. After one unforgettable night of passion fueled by high-proof rum and tropical breezes, Jack is forced to flee back to Portland when a family tragedy strikes on Mount Hood. A mislaid note leaves Ella believing she was just another holiday fling, never knowing she carried a lasting reminder of their encounter.
Twenty months later, their worlds collide in the rainy Pacific Northwest. Jack, a high-powered businessman and heir to the Brewster brewing empire, is tasked with an unpleasant job: evicting small business owners to make way for a controversial new hospital wing funded in his family's name. When he steps into a quirky boutique called Marcella's to "smooth over" the eminent domain issue, he is stunned to find the woman who has haunted his dreams-and an eleven-month-old son named Xander who is his mirror image.
As Jack fights to prove his commitment to the son he never knew existed, he finds himself caught between his ruthless, socialite mother and the woman who owns his heart. Ella, fiercely protective of her home and her independence, isn't about to let a Brewster walk back into her life without a fight. Amidst a public scandal, legal battles, and a community uprising, Jack must decide if he will follow his family's cold ambitions or build a new legacy with the woman he loves. Accompanied by his loyal Vizsla, Moonshine, this is a heartwarming and empowering tale of redemption, unexpected parenthood, and a connection that some things-like a fine rum-only grow stronger with time. Mary Oldham delivers a delicious story of second chances that proves love is the most important ingredient in any successful life.
