Indian Camp

Young Nick Adams is exposed for the first time to life and death as he assists his father, a country doctor, with an emergency caesarian section on a young woman at a secluded Indian camp. "Indian Camp" was the first story feature the semi-autobiographical character Nick Adams, and is considered one of the most important stories in Hemingway's canon.
