In The Out Door takes you on a journey through the eyes of Lester Worthy, a public school music teacher as he travels his career in the imaginary town of Clarity. It is quite a journey! Although it is a novel, it gives a very real view of life for the public school Arts teacher. Offering insight into the daily lives of both Lester Worthy and the most fearsome of beasts, the adolescent student, the story is revealing, often funny, sometimes outrageous, and occasionally tragic. John Best gives you a much different view of teaching than you have seen in the movies. You may appreciate the jobs done every day by your real teachers in the Arts after this book! Please note, there is occasionally strong language due to the subject matter: the adolescent mind.
