The summer after high school is what Emmy hopes for: a camp counselor gig, days at the pool, and weekend brunches-which only gets better when she unexpectedly falls for Deston, a former childhood friend. But when the secret Emmy's been keeping from her best friends eventually gets too big to handle, and Deston leaves her life as suddenly, as he came into it, she's forced to grapple with her heartbreak and bring, the broken pieces of herself to college.
Across the country, where she can be whoever she wants to be, Emmy stumbles upon a Christian fellowship. There, she faces hard questions that shape her in an uncomfortable yet beautiful process: What voices should she listen to in the process of staying true to herself? What does it mean to be, loved unconditionally?
Embedded in Emmy's story is the truth that the challenges, doubts, and questions you face can ultimately lead to something more beautiful and fulfilling than you could ever imagine, the hope, light, and love found in Jesus Christ.
