About
Chris grew up playing and loving music. From age seven he played piano, then guitar, woodwinds, and whatever other instruments he could get his hands on. He later completed a degree in Music from the University of Colorado. Chris performed throughout the United States, Europe, and Central America during his professional music career and has credits on 58 recordings. From Street Corners to Red Rocks Amphitheater, Concert Hall to Hospices, Chris played everywhere. He maintained a teaching studio for 16 years before moving on to other entrepreneurial endeavors. Chris still hosts a house con-cert series in Colorado and runs a music scholarship he founded. His purpose in creating this book, as with all his endeavors, is to improve people lives and have a ton of fun doing it!
Larry began playing drums in the third grade with the school band and became a drummer in several rock and jazz bands in high school, college, and af-ter graduating. He has continued playing drums, mostly as a "pick up" player and as a hobby. After retirement as an electrical engineer, he started playing saxophone and learning music, taking lessons from Chris Lawhead and others. With a keen interest in music theory, he soon wanted to help others to learn. He has taught via Taylor Robinson and Spotlight Studios and continues to teach drums and sax. His collaboration with Chris and Stephan Hume has yielded the book you now hold in your hands.
Stephan Hume is the co-author of this book as well as "I Fell In Love With Music" also available on Amazon. Mr. Hume has appeared on MTV recog-nized as an international expert on rock bands and youth music education on the hit show, "Made." Stephan Hume is the founder of the highly acclaimed Littleton School of Music, started in 2006. He earned his music degree from the University of Colorado at Denver. As a business leader, Stephan has served as the president of one of the largest BNI chapters in the world, "Action Part-ners" located in Denver, Colorado. Now he continues to find more ways to spread his passion for music education by leading the bright and talented staff of Littleton School of Music and authoring new works each year.
