These short stories, while based on actual experiences, uncover the strong connections between historical events and the private lives of ordinary people. Whether it's Stalin's regime crimes (My Naïve Parents) or the Chernobyl catastrophe (Nature Girl), personal circumstances are woven into the narrative in a way that is both entertaining and educational. A few stories touch on eternal themes, such as family relationships (Auntie Manya), the passage of time (Saturday Visit) or generational comparisons (Hamsa). Family pictures complement the stories and bring characters to life.
