Hyla

Hyla, (Hyla cinerea), the little green tree frog, is just emerging from his wintering spot. As he crawls out of the soil, he is suddenly caught up in an armload of grass and leaves as the small boy and his family gather mulch for their garden. After careful examination, the children put Hyla back where they found him. The small boy cannot forget the little frog and each day he rides his tricycle out to Hylas hiding place in the field. What follows is a highly unusual friendship between the boy and the tree frog as they explore the world around the boy's cottage.
