This is the story of a bullied hedgehog who initially experiences self-critical feelings of guilt and shame over her intrinsic protective qualities. She eventually learns that her defenses provide natural consequences, which are beneficial to both the bullies and herself. As with all the books in the Stories for Children and their Adults series, this story is written in a delightful sing-song style and can be enjoyed by children and adults alike, although it can also be used as a tool to explore deeper issues. Specifically, this story deals with the abuse cycle, victimization, low self-esteem, and setting boundaries.
