Readers will go bananas for the vibrant photographs of baby chimps in the wild. A simple narrative and fast facts teach life science concepts, such as what young chimpanzees eat and how their mothers protect them from danger. From birth to the time these great apes grow up, this book offers a sneak peek into this endangered species. This is a great introduction to baby chimpanzees that can be extended with the Learn More section. The Words to Know section in the front of the book introduces readers to unfamiliar vocabulary before they encounter it in the narrative, which enhances comprehension.
