A wildland firefighter falls for his best friend's widowed sister after she and her kids move in next door, in this flaming hot book three in the BookTok viral “Sky Ridge Hotshots” series.
“Don’t ever let me hear you talk about yourself like that, do you understand? You're perfect just like this.”
Being a hotshot wildland firefighter is all I've ever known. It's my greatest passion. This job is dangerous, and after watching my parents' marriage fail because of it, I knew long ago I'd never be a relationship kinda guy. That all changes when Teddy moves in down the street. As her brother's best friend, I've always been Xander to her, but secretly I've always wanted to be more. She's recently widowed, with two young kids and another soon on the way. With a heart locked up like Fort Knox after losing her husband, breaking down Teddy's defenses will be damn near impossible...but I want to show her that I'm here to stay. As superintendent, my duty to my crew has always been my priority. But with Teddy's heart on the line, can I give up the only life I've ever known? Or am I doomed to be honor bound and lose the only woman I've ever loved?
