This book contains a charming and profusely-illustrated little guide to training and breaking gun dogs, with a special focus on managing them when they are puppies. Gun dogs are types of dogs specifically developed to assist sportsmen in finding, flushing and/or retrieving shot game, usually birds, but sometimes small mammals such as rabbits and hares. This guide offers all the information hunters and breeders need to know on the subject. Although old, "Hints on Dog Breaking" contains timeless information, making it both a useful resource and a worthy addition to collections of vintage hunting literature. Many vintage books such as this are becoming increasingly scarce and expensive. We are republishing this volume now in an affordable, modern, high-quality addition complete with a specially commissioned new introduction on gun dogs.
