There are seasons in life that change us.
The loss we never saw coming.
The dream that didn't unfold the way we imagined.
The relationships that shaped us.
The questions we carry.
The versions of ourselves we outgrow.
The moments that break us open and the ones that quietly put us back together again.
If you've ever felt lost, overwhelmed, heartbroken, uncertain, lonely, or simply exhausted by the weight of being human, this book is for you.
Held is a collection of reflections on grief, resilience, identity, motherhood, relationships, healing, purpose, and the quiet lessons that shape a life. Through deeply personal stories and universal truths, Kate Johnstin explores the experiences that connect us all-the heartbreak, beauty, uncertainty, joy, and growth that accompany being alive.
With honesty, warmth, and compassion, these essays offer gentle reminders for the days when life feels heavy and meaningful perspective for the days when it feels light. They explore the truths many of us know in our hearts but sometimes forget: that healing is not linear, that some losses change us forever, that we are allowed to change, and that even our hardest seasons are shaping who we are becoming.
Whether you are navigating a difficult chapter, searching for meaning, or simply longing to feel understood, Held is an invitation to pause, reflect, and return to yourself.
A companion for the messy, beautiful, heartbreaking, and extraordinary experience of being human.
A reminder that you are not alone in what you carry.
And that even in life's hardest moments, you have always been more held than you realize.
