What if healing didn't mean being "fixed," but finally feeling safe enough to live your life?
Many trauma survivors believe healing should eventually make everything feel normal again. But for those living with complex trauma and dissociation, healing often looks very different. It can be slow, confusing, and deeply lonely.
At twenty-two, Chelsey Valeri believed she understood pain. But when life asked more of her than she knew how to give, her body began responding in ways she couldn't explain. Fear, exhaustion, and dissociation slowly took hold, leaving her feeling disconnected from herself and unsure how to move forward.
What followed was not a neat recovery story or a checklist for healing. It was a gradual and honest reckoning with what it means to live after trauma. Complex trauma does not only live in memory. It shapes the nervous system, relationships, identity, and the quiet choices we make every day just to get through.
In Healed Enough, Chelsey Valeri shares her personal journey through trauma recovery with clarity, compassion, and candor. As both a complex trauma survivor and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker trained in trauma therapy, she weaves together lived experience and professional understanding to illuminate what healing can actually look like.
This book does not promise perfect healing. Instead, it offers something far more honest.
Inside you'll discover:
• an intimate look at living with complex trauma and dissociation
• how trauma affects the nervous system, identity, and relationships
• the emotional reality of trauma recovery that many survivors quietly carry
• compassionate insight from both personal experience and trauma therapy practice
• reassurance for those who feel disconnected from their own mind and body
• different way to think about healing, one that allows room for imperfection
You may recognize yourself in this book if you:
• live with the lasting effects of childhood trauma or PTSD
• struggle with dissociation or feeling disconnected from your body
• feel exhausted trying to heal the "right way"
• wonder why recovery sometimes feels harder than expected
• are searching for language that finally describes your experience
Written with warmth, honesty, and deep respect for the complexity of trauma, Healed Enough speaks directly to readers who are learning to live alongside their healing rather than waiting for it to be finished.
Because healing is not a finish line.
And you may already be further along than you think.
