About

Hatton Garden... straight from the horse's mouth, as told to the factual producer on ITV's new HATTON GARDEN drama series.

For this team of old-school career criminals, The Hatton Garden Heist was supposed to be one last job, the fortune that would sort their retirement for good. The plan was to smash in and grab tens of millions of pounds from beneath the world-famous gold-and-jewellery district, and get away to live in luxury.

But somewhere it all went wrong.

Now, for the first time ever, we hear what happened from the gang behind bars.

Based on exclusive interviews and featuring shocking revelations from their associates, this explosive and gripping read includes fresh information and evidence from unheard sources.

This is the full story of one of the most audacious crimes in British history. Jonathan Levi is a successful television executive and BAFTA-nominated documentary film maker. Attracted to the extremes in society, he was the first person to ever gain full access to the patients and staff at Broadmoor for a highly-acclaimed primetime ITV series offering startling insights into the minds of some of Britain's most notorious psychiatric patients.

When TV star and recording artist Tulisa was entrapped by the Sun on Sunday she turned to Jonathan to author and tell her story for BBC1 in the ratings hit Tulisa: The Price of Fame. Jonathan has made programmes with Andrew Lloyd Webber about his art collection and his musicals, and has hosted fundraisers with The Old Vic.

He was Factual Producer on the ITV four-part drama, Hatton Garden, and co-author of a book on the same subject Hatton Garden: The Inside Story. The gang behind the Hatton Garden Heist finally talk about what really went down that day The book will publish alongside the ITV drama, currently called Hatton Garden, 4 x 1 hr episodes (potentially six) directed by Jeff Pope (Moorside, Philomena, Mrs Biggs). The author is Factual Producer on the the series and a Bafta-nominated director himself. A major Hatton Garden movie is in the pipeline with Michael Caine, Ray Winstone, Michael Gambon, and Jim Broadbent all linked. This is the first time any of the robbers have spoken out and the content will be made up as many of the gang's own words as possible, based on prison interviews with gang members (particularly Danny Jones), their associates and other sources, such as unseen police surveillance records. The gang are determined to set the record straight. Danny Jones, the main source, has now pleaded guilty to stealing £1m from the jewellers to George Clooney, which will be included in the book. There are a number of books on the heist but by in large these are based on inaccurate newspaper stories that the gang wants to set straight. Comparison titles include Heist by Howard Sounes (15K TCM), The Curse of Brink's Mat (20K TCM), i Am Not A Gangster (45K TCM)
