She wants music, color, and excitement-the life of a gypsy. Her father wants her protected-and hidden...
At just 10-years old, Camilla's life is turned upside down when her mother is tragically murdered. Her father, high-end financier, Charles, is bitter and blames himself for not safeguarding his wife from her Romani heritage and the dangerous world of gypsies. To prevent his daughter from falling victim, he erases every trace of his wife-even destroying Camilla's precious violin...she played so beautifully and perfectly without even a lesson.
As a young woman, Camilla secretly wants to be like her mother-free-spirited and artistic-but is forbidden to associate with anyone beyond her upper-class circle. She conforms...until meeting the charismatic, handsome painter, Johnny. He introduces her to a mysterious world of art, dance, and magic-something she must keep hidden from her father. It's two worlds, mounds of secrets...and a collision of truth about to unfold.
