She wanted a vacation; what she got was a quest...
High school history teacher Jennifer Cassidy has been grieving her best friend, Lynn Rickerson, after her brutal slaying shook their hometown of Eastfall. As the ending of another school year comes to a close, Jennifer can think of only one thing that would both honor her friend and pull her out of her rut: the dream vacation she and Lynn had been planning for years.
But a simple trip to the southwest of England turns into something much more. Jennifer is stunned to find herself thrust 1500 years into the past, a murky era often called the Dark Ages. What she thought was a dream turns into something much more real and terrifying. Jennifer must journey to find a solution to return home, but to get there she must place her trust in Lucius Artorius Aurelianus. The handsome swordsman, whom she believes may be the legend himself: King Arthur, becomes the only one she can trust to aid her in her quest. But there are darker forces working against her, seeking the knowledge she hopes to obtain. With a misfit group of strays picked up along the way, the window for Jennifer's return home narrows as she fights against terrifying nightmares, invading Saxons, and the pull of her heart.
