What does it mean to truly love someone? Someone you've secretly been in love with for six years… Especially when that someone struggles with mental illness… Quirky and outspoken Carrington Daughtler chose living a writer's life in New York over a prestigious graduate degree in psychology, disappointing her mother once again, despite Cari becoming a number one bestselling poet. Needing a change of hairstyle and scenery, Cari moves to Baltimore, where she plans to complete her latest poetry collection. Unexpectedly, she reconnects with some college friends, including Abel Harpen, whom she secretly loved for six years. Gray Matter is a novel filled with humor and heartache that not only answers the question about loving someone with mental health challenges but erases the stigma surrounding them.
