This light-hearted rhyming story is illustrated in a simple comic book style. It features a familiar cast of creepy creatures, and shows how our imaginations can get overactive in the dark. Kids will love joining in with the refrain after Grandma's spooky verses - it starts with a blood-curdling scream! The book has been designed for pre-schoolers and readers of all ages who enjoy adding a touch of amateur dramatics to their narration.
The plot: Four young cousins are staying at their grandparent's house on a stormy night when a lightning strike plunges the house into darkness. Grandma mischievously entertains them with her absurd spooky stories. In the darkness, imaginations start working overtime. Thought bubbles show what each cousin is imagining. Tension builds. Can Grandma's stories be true? Is the bogeyman real? What is under Grandma's bed? Who is knocking on the front door? AAAGH!! Thankfully, Grandad calms everyone down before bedtime.
