A trade paperback original novel that is perfect for fans of The Amazing Race and Never Ever Getting Back Together by Sophie Gonzales! Former best friends, Yumi and Noelle, must fake date to compete on an all-couples season of their favorite race-around-the-world reality tv show.
Reality TV enthusiasts Noelle and Yumi, spent ten years attached at the hip-until the summer after junior year. One ill-fated night (and one awkward kiss) ended their friendship faster than Netflix canceling its latest Bachelor knockoff. After a year of no contact, fate throws the girls back together when they're offered a last-minute spot on their favorite show-an Amazing Race analogue called The Adventureverse.
It's a chance to put their superfan status to the test, a dream come true. Except for a few snags: it's an all-couples season, filming starts in two days, and Noelle hasn't spoken to her "girlfriend" in a year. But Noelle already has plans to use the prize money on her ailing father's medical expenses. He's her only living parent, and she would do anything for him-including fake date her ex-bestie on national television.
Can Noelle walk a tightrope between reality and TV while juggling a pretend relationship, real feelings, and family worries? Or will she be the next Adventurer eliminated in Good Luck, Babe!? Erin Baldwin was born in the Philippines, raised in Jersey City, NJ, and now lives in Colorado (where, tragically, there is no good pizza or Filipino food). One childhood Christmas morning, she peeled back gold wrapping paper to reveal Just Ella by Margaret Peterson Haddix, and she's been an avid reader and writer ever since. Though her first love is fantasy, these days she's much more interested in finding the magic and whimsy her goofball characters can create in everyday life. Wish You Weren't Here is her debut novel.
