She lectured for several years in the Harvard Celtic Department and has published on Irish and Welsh medieval topics. Her major publication is Cattle-lords and Clansmen: the Social Structure of Early Ireland (Notre Dame UP, 1991). In 2004 she began to write fiction. Tragically, Nerys passed away suddenly in October 2007 after completing this, her first novel.
