Richard H. Barry, author of Her Name is Mystery, invites you once more into a spiritual landscape where God defies expectations. In place of gloom and doom, God Has a Smoking Jacket offers a message of divine levity - reveling in intimacy over distance, playfulness over rigidity, and the inherent goodness of humanity and creation over ingrained negativity. Could it be that God, the Profligate One, is enjoying himself immensely as he dreams everything into being? Barry thinks so.
Featuring contributions from Garrison Foxwaters and Yusuf Ishqzoda, this collection ventures far beyond conventional notions of the Divine, brimming with entries that sparkle with wit and wisdom. God Has a Smoking Jacket is more than poetry - it is headlong spiritual energy. Let its pages rekindle your wonder, spark new laughter, and usher you into a deeper, more tender, more authentic - yes, even more fun - relationship with that boundless Mystery we dare call God. -- Richard H. Barry is an American mystic and poet who has spent much of his adult life in religiously diverse contexts in Asia. His deepest sense of calling revolves around living his life as a celebration of Mystery and being someone who reveals the radical playfulness and shamelessness of God.
