Once upon a time, there were a couple of trolls, a human, a gnome and a possum trying to save the four worlds from a fate worse than death. They failed...
Colin (who's wondering how he got into this mess), the reluctant troll Grieve, and the rest of their intrepid group are heading towards the Crack to track down the Nameless One. Faced with a powerful entity of evil, an over-sized fairy with an inferiority complex and a host of strange and unusual creatures from the Crack, Grieve and Colin need all the help they can get.
What they actually get is Ashley Jane Grubb, the vainest girl at Widdleton Elementary school; a directionally-challenged mad dwarf; and Busternut the wizard, whose magic works (or doesn't) in rather weird and wonderful ways.
The odds aren't looking good... Kathryn Deans has been writing since parchment was invented, trying her hand at various genres but focusing mainly on children's literature, which she loves. She loves reading just about as much as she loves writing. She also likes loud music, watching DVDs with the family and going out for coffee. She does not like mowing the grass, Monday mornings or commercials on the telly. Kathryn grew up in the Dandenong Ranges, about 30 kilometres outside Melbourne and lives there now with her partner, children and pets.
