Josh and Joe Reed, twins, twenty years old, launch out on their own for Oregon. What was meant to be a stopover in Baker City ends up a godsend for one brother and a tragedy for the other.
The day they rode into town would forever change not only their lives but the lives of Betsy McLemore and her mother, Sloan. Josh and Joe Reeds adventure would ultimately alter another life too, that of Britta Lundgren, thousands of miles away in New York City.
All the while, back in Thatcher Springs, Millie was planning the ultimate family reunion. It would be an event like never before! She only hoped Silas wouldn’t shoot her for what she had done.
