What if the very thing that felt like abandonment was actually alignment? What if being given up was never meant to break you-but to position you? In Given Up on Purpose, Pastor Aljenon David Lewis Cooper delivers a deeply personal and spiritually transformative message about rejection, identity, destiny, and divine design. Adopted at birth and raised by a praying, loving family, Pastor Cooper wrestled with the silent questions that many carry but few voice: Why was I given up? Was I unwanted? Did my beginning disqualify me? Through raw transparency and biblical revelation, he uncovers a life-altering truth: nothing in your story is accidental. Drawing from powerful biblical narratives-including Joseph's betrayal, Moses' abandonment, and Peter's failure-Given Up on Purpose reveals how God uses the pit, the palace, the wilderness, and even our worst moments to shape destiny. This is not just a book about adoption. It is a book about identity. It is a book about purpose. It is a book about understanding that what looked like rejection was often protection. Inside these pages, you will discover: • How betrayal can be the doorway to destiny • Why abandonment does not mean absence of purpose • The difference between being rejected by people and chosen by God • How pain becomes preparation • Why surrender is sometimes the pathway to salvation • How to embrace your story without shame • What it means to truly believe that nothing in your life was wasted With prophetic insight, pastoral wisdom, and authentic vulnerability, Pastor Cooper challenges readers to stop viewing their past through the lens of hurt and start seeing it through the lens of heaven. You may have been given up by people. But you were never given up by God. If you have ever felt overlooked, unwanted, misunderstood, or forgotten-this book will remind you that your story did not end in the moment of rejection. That moment may have been the very beginning of your divine positioning. Given Up on Purpose is a declaration to every person who has ever questioned their worth: You were not a mistake. You were not an accident. You were not forgotten. You were given up on purpose.
