Even the Queen of England has to get up and groomed to greet the day in award-winning author Shirin Yim Bridges and illustrator Alea Marley's delightful picture book.
Get up, Elizabeth!
It's time for the future queen to get out of bed, scrub her face with almond paste, brush her teeth with soot, comb the tangles out of her unruly red hair, get dressed, and sit still while her ruff is sewn on and her sleeves are pinned. It's rough rising and shining every day-for queens and kids alike.
"The Elizabeth of the title is none other than a very young Queen Elizabeth I (still technically a princess in these pages), and any reader who's been thrust into a stifling party outfit will have built-in empathy as little Bess is roused from her comfy four poster bed and prepped for a big court appearance." -Publishers Weekly
