Let's face it - relationships are hard. In the beginning, it's all fireworks and butterflies. Then life happens. In Get Real, Carmel Wynne cuts through the typical relationship advice fluff and tackles what's really going on when partners drift apart. This isn't about grand romantic gestures or communication techniques. It's about understanding the unspoken 'psychological contract' between you and your partner - all those expectations neither of you ever actually said out loud but still hold each other to. If your relationship is still good on paper but the spark has dimmed, if intimacy has drifted or if you're simply too tired to pretend everything's perfect, this book meets you right there. With honest stories from couples who've walked this road, straightforward exercises you'll actually use and candid conversations about sex, resentment, and reconnection, Wynne gives you a clear path back to each other.
Your relationship deserves better than 'fine.' It deserves real.
"My wish was to offer readers the tools to identify the obstacles that keep them stuck, afraid to step out of their comfort zone or to take action to change situations they found unacceptable."
