Gentle Musings About Life is a quiet, intimate reflection on awakening, written on a late December evening when clarity rose unannounced and the heart finally felt light enough to speak. At seventy‑three, the author describes a growing happiness that did not arrive quickly or easily, but through years of loss, searching, and unexpected grace. What once felt essential has fallen away. Loneliness has dissolved into peace. The longing for someone to complete him has ended in the realization that he was created complete-and so were we all.
This book explores the simple but forgotten truth that we have never been separate from God. We think we are, and because the mind is unimaginably powerful, the illusion feels real. Yet the memory of Heaven remains within us, waiting to return. When it does, we awaken in the Heaven we never left. This is not belief or wishful thinking, but a certainty that emerges through lived experience, quiet reflection, and the gentle guidance of the Holy Spirit.
The author shares the sudden loss of his wife, Mary Jo, who died at forty‑three during what was meant to be a joyful second honeymoon. The shock, grief, and disorientation that followed became the beginning of a long spiritual transformation. Through this pain came a profound realization: love is never lost, and death is an illusion. What hurts us most reveals how deeply we love, and that love is eternal because God is Love.
Gentle Musings About Life challenges long‑held beliefs about sin, hell, and divine punishment. If God is perfect Love, how could He create a place of eternal torment? How could we sin against absolute power? The ego convinces us we are guilty, separate, and condemned, but this is the same ego that created the body as a fence to keep God out. The moment the mind asked the innocent question, What else is there?, communication with God seemed to stop, and the dream of separation began. The Big Bang was not creation, but the beginning of a dream born from fear.
Yet the solution was given instantly. The Holy Spirit, God's second creation, remains within every mind, gently guiding us back to Love. Every moment becomes an opportunity to choose peace over fear, forgiveness over judgment, and remembrance over forgetting. The smallest act of love is remembered by God. Every step toward forgiveness peels away another layer of the ego, just as removing layers of an onion eventually reveals there is nothing left. When the final layer falls, the ego disappears into the nothingness from which it came, and we awaken in the Heaven we never left.
This book reminds us that nothing real can be threatened and nothing unreal exists. Peace is not found in circumstances but in the decision to remember Who We Are. Happiness grows when placed in God's Hands. Life becomes easier, calmer, and more meaningful as we accept that we are Christ Beings, created perfect, eternal, and limitless. Our time on Earth is a preparation for the true education that awaits us in Heaven, where joy, wonder, and creation continue forever.
Gentle Musings About Life is a soft, heartfelt invitation to remember the truth: we were created by Love, we are sustained by Love, and we will return to the Love we never left.
God Is.
