Gentle is a sweet picture book about the transformative power that quiet love and kindness can have on any creature, based on the real-life animal sanctuary the Gentle Barn. Ellie Laks founded the Gentle Barn in 1999. With the help of her partner, Jay, and a team of amazing staff and volunteers, they have rescued thousands of animals who had nowhere else to go. When the animals are ready, she partners with them to help humans who are hurting and inspire gentleness. She has written two memoirs, is an animal communicator to clients around the world, and enjoys time off with her three kids, and three grandchildren.
