About

Inspired by early 2000s lyricists like Chester Bennington and Chris Cornell, this mosaic of poetry, photos, art, and more addresses mental health issues and embracing queerness in Houston, TX.

At times brutal and sometimes caressing, Genrequeer: A Mini-Memoir, Remastered explores the world through the eyes of a bipolar, transgender, mixed Latinx Millennial. In this experimental work, seemingly random elements like astrological traits, hashtags, and lyrics written in broken Spanish scaffold the nostalgic, often visceral poetry woven throughout. 'Genrequeer' is a coming-of-age tale that asserts that "angst" is just another word for "the blues" as it unapologetically discusses messy romance and questions religious sentiments.

'Genrequeer' dives deep into both the light and dark aspects of life. It will resonate with neurodivergent people, the LGBTQIA+ community, Millennials, and anyone else who has ever felt like an outcast. This collection invites the reader to appreciate how far they've come in what one reviewer calls, "a brave voice that fearlessly shouts, 'This is who I AM.'"
