They thought it was just a lost city-until the death toll began.
When Professor Charles Summers leads an expedition deep into Antarctica's Transantarctic Mountains, he hopes to uncover a lost civilization. Instead, they unearth something far more sinister-a 35,000-year-old city hiding an ancient and deadly plague.
Within weeks, five million are dead. Another ten million are dying. Billions more will follow.
But this is no ordinary disease. It targets only certain ethnic groups.
Governments fear it's a genetic bioweapon, engineered for ethnic cleansing and now deployed with devastating precision. Panic spreads. Nations turn on each other. The world teeters on the brink of war.
Economic and political chaos erupt. Stock markets crash. Lawlessness spreads. Radical solutions are considered-and executed. Within days, full-scale war is inevitable. Half the world's population will be wiped out in a final apocalyptic battle. Nuclear warheads are armed. Military forces are ready to strike.
And there are those who want this to happen.
Only Summers and his small team may have the knowledge to stop it. But can they? Will they even be allowed to try? More importantly, is there enough time?
Genetic Bullets is the explosive sequel to Ninth Cycle Antarctica and the third thrilling installment in JC Ryan's acclaimed Rossler Foundation Mystery series, delving into genetic engineering, global conspiracies and the fight to prevent humanity's darkest fate.
