Fun Loving Finn - The New Collection invites readers on a wild ride through the late 1960s and early 1970s, where the period's countercultural ideals prevail. This collection of creative nonfiction (memoir) stories chronicles the misadventures of Finn Briscoe, a college dropout whose journey takes him through hitchhiking and pot deals to construction sites, Mississippi towboats, and border crossings in North and South America.
From sometimes harebrained schemes to finance college and travel to unexpected friendships with work-release inmates, each story offers a fresh glimpse into the colorful, challenging worlds Finn stumbles upon. Along the way, he encounters a cast of unforgettable characters: a cocky, redneck auto mechanic, a feisty deckhand, and a friendly, French-speaking fox on a Mexican beach, among others. Finn's sardonic, humor-driven reflections on authority, self-discovery, and cultural divides liven the narrative with his unique voice.
Author Finn Briscoe captures the highs and lows of youthful adventure in tales brimming with wit, charm, and unexpected wisdom. For fans of insightful humor, this collection promises a vivid snapshot of a unique era and the timeless pursuit of freedom and connection.
