She's a princess the world thinks doesn't exist, and she'd love to keep it that way.
In a kingdom ruled by an eternal couple, King Cruor and Queen Amnis stand unchallenged, bringing peace and prosperity to the land by ruling with an iron fist for millennia, and meeting dissent with swift justice. While the people consider them gods in human form, with the ability to control elements, Mejia only knows them as her parents. Stolen away from the castle at birth at the instruction of her mother, she had hoped the King wouldn't learn of her existence for many years.
Wanting nothing more than to be the best blacksmith on the continent, Mejia lives in the capital, right under their noses perfecting her craft.
But before Mejia is ready, the King learns of her existence and drags her into his world. Forced into the politics and dangers of royalty, she learns quickly how brutal King Cruor can be, and just how much the kingdom needs her and her abilities to keep them safe.
In this epic fantasy readers will find a thrilling tale about family, duty and forging your own path. Filled with a driving plot and compelling characters this book meets every fantasy-lovers needs. Fans of Naomi Novik, Sarah J Mass, and V.E. Schwab will enjoy this exciting, yet dark novel.
