Fourteen-year-old Will Stover has it all: great friends, supportive parents, a ton of athletic ability, and a bright future. He also has a problem. He's been assigned the task of leading his tradition-rich varsity football team back to the state playoffs. But, when Will, despite his talent, is slow to perform on the field, the backlash from his new teammates is harsh and immediate. Will must find a way to overcome the challenges, while fostering a relationship with his first girlfriend. Action-packed, with a touch of budding romance, Freshman Phenom, the first book in The Will Stover Sports Series, captures the struggles of playing up to one's potential and the obstacles of friendship.
