How was he to know that he would be the first to fire a shot for the Revolution? It was six months before Lexington and Concord and he barely knew about the troubles in the coastal cities. Joe Howard's frontier adventures with a giant slave name Freedom draw them into Lord Dunmore's War, 1774, and the little known battle of Point Pleasant in what is now West Virginia. The history is correct as I can make it, the protagonists and some of their friends are fictional. I hope all of it is enjoyable.
